Product description:
This modified Cheongsam is designed to be reversible. Cheongsam, also known as the qipao and sometimes referred to as the mandarin gown, is a Chinese dress worn by women which takes inspiration from the Qi Zhuang, the ethnic clothing of the Manchu people. Smartly using denim as the fabric modernizes the style, while skillfully changing the traditional figure-fitting cheongsam style into a loose-fit cutting makes it more versatile in our daily life.
The cut-out geometries were inspired by the “Lou Chuang”- viewing windows/leaking windows in traditional Chinese gardens. Through these “windows” you can get a glimpse of the chinese jacquard fabric from the other side. Through this piece of fashion item you can also take a glimpse at Chinese culture and aesthetics, which is just as poetic as Lou Chuang in traditional Chinese architectural design.
The other side is represented with the intricate jacquard fabric in flower motif to elevate the look. This piece can be worn as a tunic or a jacket, since it is lightly padded, which is perfect for most of the seasons and occasions.
